Positioning Yourself for Promotion – Code 101

“Embracing the Journey to Greatness”

A couple of years ago, the Holy Spirit inspired me to explore the concept of “Positioning Yourself for Promotion, Power, Fame, Prestige and Honor.” As we step into 2025, I’m excited to revisit and expand on this vital topic.

In this series, we’ll delve into the importance of embracing the due process required for achieving greatness and acquiring power. By understanding and aligning ourselves with this process, we can avoid self-sabotaging behaviors and seize significant opportunities for growth and promotion.

Join me on this transformative journey as we explore practical strategies for “positioning ourselves for success in every area of life.

Have you ever felt overlooked for a promotion or opportunity? Perhaps you’ve wondered, “What did I do wrong?” or “Why wasn’t I chosen?

We will also explore the essential attitudes and strategies for advancing in various aspects of life, including your career, community and faith.

Through the example of David’s journey from the sheepfold to the palace (1 Samuel 17:57-59 & 1 Samuel 18:1-5), we’ll discover the importance of being in the right “palace” – a place of favor, opportunity, and growth.

Your “palace” might be your workplace, church or organization. Wherever you are, your attitude will significantly impact your progress. Don’t let it undermine God’s plan for your life.

To reach the corridors of power, consider these three key elements:

1. God’s Grace

2. Personal Achievements (education, skills, integrity, competence)

3. Recommendations from someone in authority

Note that the “palace” represents the environment that prepares you for leadership, but it’s not the ultimate position of power – the throne. In the palace, everyone serves under one leader.

To succeed, in the “palace” recognize that:

– Leadership seats are singular

– Collaboration is key

– Navigating relationships with those in power is crucial

Failing to understand these dynamics can hinder your promotion. Through David’s example, we’ll explore strategies for positioning yourself for success in your workplace and beyond.

To be continued…

This teaching is very much true. But it is very challenging when you want to maintain your integrity in the midst of corrupt people.
